DANGER: The last decade was the hottest in 125,000 years. Global temperatures are now the highest since records began. Heating is accelerating. Fast.

  • EXTREME WEATHER

Climate change is making extreme weather events more frequent and severe - heatwaves, droughts, floods, wildfires, and storms. Widespread destruction and loss of life are worsening.

  • Melting Ice

Melting Ice: The earth has lost 28 trillion tonnes of land and sea ice since the mid-1990s, and is now losing a further 1.2 trillion tonnes each year. Heating the oceans - enough to take 15 trillion Olympic pools from 0-100C each year - with added meltwater, raises sea levels and threatens us with the collapse of major ocean circulations on which our civilisation depends.

  • Rising seas: Heating oceans causes water to expand. This, and water added from melting land ice, is raising sea levels three times faster than even a few decades ago - now by one cm every two years. As polar heating accelerates, sea levels may rise abruptly, threatening most major cities.

  • Ocean Acidification

Ocean Acidification: The ocean absorbs most of the global energy gain, but also the CO₂ causing it. This makes the ocean more acidic, devastating marine life worldwide, and especially coral reefs.

  • Species Extinction

Species Extinction: Three species an hour become extinct, and a million more are at risk of extinction due to climate change. As ecosystems collapse, all life is threatened.

  • Food insecurity

Food insecurity: Droughts, floods, heatwaves and cold snaps damage crops and livestock, as do changes in pests and diseases. Rising sea levels contaminate soil with salt. Dry soil blows away. Land is lost to sea level rise. High temperatures prevent outdoor work. Availability and affordability of food are thus increasingly threatened.

  • Economic Disruption

Economic Disruption: Changing climate and worsening extreme weather damage infrastructure, power production (e.g. nuclear plant cooling, hydroelectric), and crop production. Roads melt or wash away and rails buckle. Such impacts already cost the global economy $4000 a second. More than half the global economy may be lost within decades.

  • Threat to Civilisation

Threat to Civilisation: Steady changes in climate with more frequent and severe extreme weather events cause economic and ecosystem collapse, starvation, migration and war. Without action, 4 billion people may be affected in coming decades.

  • Nobody is safe. The poor may be most visibly affected first. But wealthier nations and individuals depend upon global ecosystems, economies and food supply. All of these are threatened.

Our mission is to create MASS ACTION across all healthcare sectors - from individuals to industries - to reduce greenhouse gas emissions at the pace and scale required.

Real Zero’s 7 Acts to Save the World empowers individuals to take simple yet impactful steps to combat climate change. By switching to ethical banking and renewable energy, reducing reliance on fossil fuels, and embracing a plant-based diet, you can significantly cut your carbon footprint. Choosing greener travel, buying second-hand, and measuring your CO₂ impact helps minimise waste and emissions. Most importantly, inspiring friends and family to take action amplifies the movement for a healthier planet. Small changes add up - start today and be part of the solution!

Understanding the problem

Our goals are set according to the most up-to-date climate science.

How we can help you

Aligned to our 7 Acts, we are working with partners across healthcare and industry to develop replicable solutions that deliver health, financial and carbon benefits across these domains.

Our strength lies in making sense of complex problems and identifying solutions that help healthcare organisations reduce their Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions. With extensive NHS experience, strong relationships with healthcare leaders, and access to credible industry partners, we act as a catalyst for change.

We problem-solve, connect the right solution owners, foster effective partnerships, and initiate change work that delivers measurable outcomes. This builds a replicable knowledge base and proof of concept, enabling Real Zero to step back once systems are established.

  • OUR LIVES, AND THOSE OF OUR CHILDREN, ARE NOW UNDER THREAT. WE HAVE TO ACT, NOW, TO SAVE OURSELVES. Together we can. We will show you how. Welcome to Real Zero

  • Heatwave

Unprecedented heating has made the last decade the hottest in 125,000 years, with 2024 marking record global temperatures and an alarming acceleration in warming.

  • Despite London's flood defense system, rising sea levels threaten to displace 2 million Londoners by 2070 without new protective measures.

  • Extinction of Polar bears

If we don't act now, Polar Bears will face extinction—and so will our planet. The time to save them is now. Together, we can achieve Real Zero. Your journey begins here.
